Description
The Cable 3/8 x 65′ is a durable, stainless steel wire rope that has been designed to be strong, flexible, and should last a very long time in marine and industrial applications. The design of the cable considers ‘performance’ and ‘corrosion resistance’ while being a good selection for applications when flexibility and consistent tension and support must be maintained for long periods of time, such as boat lifts, dock rigging, or winching. The Cable 3/8 x 65′ has all of the properties of 7×7 construction as well as easy flexibility, and has all the corrosion resistance of stainless steel with the strength and integrity expected of marine applications.
Key Features
3/8-inch diameter, 65-foot length: This size offers substantial tensile strength and provides ample reach. It is great for large lifts or tensioning projects. If you are buying a lift system for a full-size boat or setting up an extended configuration dock rigging, you can run the system with the rope without splicing it.
7×19 stainless steel material: This is constructed with 7 strands of stainless steel wire, each with 19 individual wires, allowing for a configuration that offers a large amount of flexibility while maintaining strength. It has great resilience to kinking and is easy to handle and bend, allowing you to wrap it around winches or pulleys.
Available in 304 or 316 stainless steel:
- 304 stainless steel is suitable for general outdoor and marine use, offering good corrosion resistance and a breaking strength of up to 12,000 lbs.
- 316 stainless steel has the same alloying elements as 304, with the addition of molybdenum, which provides increased resistance to saltwater corrosion, making it more suitable for extreme marine applications.
Durable marine-grade material: Designed to withstand rust, corrosion, and wear in saltwater and coastal environments. Excellent for boat lifts, mooring lines, railing systems, and rigging.
Adaptable and flexible: easy to install, spool, and cut to length; works with clamps, thimbles, and eyelets for custom configurations.
Additional information
Installation/usage instructions: The cable can be cut and finished with wire rope clamps, thimbles or crimping sleeves, depending on your application. It is best to use stainless steel hardware to give you full corrosion protection. Always observe correct safety standards for load rating and installation methods.
Care and maintenance: After use in saltwater rinse with fresh water to reduce build-up and prolong service life. Periodically check for signs of fraying, corrosion, or mechanical wear. Store the coiled cable in a dry place and avoid overstretching and bending to maintain its condition.
